A Christ-centered recovery ministry for anyone working through hurts, habits, and hang-ups. You don’t have to carry it alone — and you don’t have to have it all together to walk in.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12-step ministry built on the words of Jesus. If any of these sound familiar, there’s a seat for you on Tuesday night.
Wounds that keep shaping today:
Patterns you can’t seem to break:
Struggles of the heart and mind:
Walking into a recovery meeting for the first time takes courage. Here’s exactly how the night flows, so there are no surprises.
Doors open at 5:30 PM. Grab a coffee, check the kids in, and find a friendly face — our team will help you get settled. Come casual; nobody is judging your outfit or your past.
Everyone gathers for worship and a teaching or a testimony from someone walking the same road. It’s hope, out loud, from people who’ve been where you are.
Men’s and women’s small groups where you can share — or just listen. What’s said in the group stays in the group. Confidentiality is the rule, not the exception.
The night closes with coffee, conversation, and community until 9:00 PM. Recovery sticks when it isn’t done alone — this is where the friendships start.
Justin and Chesney Horton have served at Cornerstone since 2013 — as Sunday school teachers, youth leaders, and now as the leaders of this recovery ministry, which they began building in January 2021 under the covering of CAC’s pastoral team.
Recovery is their deepest passion: meeting people right where they are and pointing them to lasting hope in Christ. Alongside their dedicated team, they also take this ministry beyond Tuesday nights, volunteering weekly at the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.
No. Celebrate Recovery is open to anyone in the Chattanooga area — church members, first-time guests, and people who haven’t set foot in a church in years. Many people come on Tuesdays long before they ever visit a Sunday service.
Yes. Only about a third of Celebrate Recovery participants come for chemical addiction. The rest come for hurts and hang-ups like grief, anxiety, anger, codependency, and the wounds of a broken past. If something is keeping you from the life God made you for, this is for you.
Yes. Anonymity and confidentiality are ground rules of Celebrate Recovery. What is shared in small group stays in small group, and you are never required to share — listening is a perfectly good first step.
Yes — childcare is available during the Tuesday night meeting, provided by Cornerstone’s background-checked kids team, so you can be fully present for your recovery.
No sign-up and no cost — just come. If you’d rather talk to someone first, use the form below or email us at hoperecovery@cacchattanooga.org and a team member will reach out.
Tuesday can feel like a long way off when you’re hurting today. Send us a note — it goes straight to the Hope Ministries team, and what you write stays between you and them.
